Trails Youth Initiative and Cooper Mediation send out our heartfelt thanks for all the support of this year’s edition of Vancestock which has raised over $28,000 thus far. Over 8 years, we have raised $260,000. This has allowed for dozens of at risk inner city youth to enter the “Four Seasons, Four Years, For Life” programme – a unique, outdoor, adventure-based programme that supports youth through experiential learning, skill development, high school credits, bursaries and mentorship. Trails challenges and equips vulnerable youth to become contributing members of the community.

For those of you who attended Vancestock VIII, you were treated to four fantastic performances – Sisters & Brothers [Logan, Jon and Harrison Cooper and Jess and Jacob Charendoff], Frank and Beans [https://www.instagram.com/the_franks_and_beans/], The Emburys [http://www.theemburys.com/] and Tommy Youngsteen – North America’s premier Bruce Springsteen tribute band [https://www.tommyyoungsteen.com/].

How Does Trails Help Youth and The Community – A Real-Life Example

Growing up in an inner city environment, Warren began Trails at the age of 12 as a member of the Sweet and Sour Group. In this programme he developed skills to deal with real-life issues and the confidence to take charge of his future. Years later, Warren graduated from Guelph University with a Masters in Anthropology. His thesis on “Youth Outreach Work: Using Solidarity to Empower Youth” was published in the Canadian Anthropology Society Cultural Newsletter. Warren’s future might have looked very different were it not for Trails. Read more on past participants here: https://www.trails.ca/participants.

Please Consider Making a Donation, and Help More Youth Like Warren

Donations to the Vancestock VIII Trails Fundraiser will be accepted until December 31, 2019.

Warmest regards and heartfelt thanks,

Vance, Jon, Logan and the Cooper Mediation Team

P.S. Please save Thursday, October 22, 2020 for Vancestock IX at Radio [formerly Adelaide Hall] though, at the same time, we can  tell you that we are exploring some other ideas and options. Stay tuned for further details on this developing story.
