Standard Mediation is our traditional, full-day or half-day format. It’s a trusted, time-tested method that we’ve been refining for over 35 years. What does a Standard Mediation with Cooper Mediation look like?
We start the process early through our complimentary Case Management service, which helps ensure your file is mediation-ready—streamlining the process, identifying key issues in advance, and setting the stage for a productive session.
On mediation day, we begin by canvassing the issues in detail through opening remarks—going beyond the mediation memo to uncover what really matters. From there, we move into a back-and-forth negotiation using shuttle diplomacy in breakout rooms. Our goal is to build momentum, ensure every voice is heard, and create an environment where informed decisions can be made. If during the mediation we reach a standstill, we’re prepared to use our toolkit to adjust the process in order to refocus efforts. If settlement isn’t achieved on the day, we stay engaged—following up to keep the conversation going.
For most cases, our Standard Mediation—combined with well-honed processes and flexibility—meets the needs of our clients. But we wanted to take things a step further.
