20 Jan Vance Cooper Named Cambridge Club Gentleman of the Year
Cooper Mediation is pleased to announce that Vance Cooper has been named Gentleman of the Year by Cambridge Club – an accolade given to the member who “best exemplifies what the Cambridge Club is all about.”
Vance has been a member of the club since 1991 and has enjoyed many early morning work outs at the gym, meeting friends and clients for lunch or stopping in later in the day for an “executive workout” a.k.a. The Tribathalon [steam, hot tub and shower].
Vance notes, “I am very honoured and very flattered. I do what I do to make me happy – whether that is sponsoring the Canada Cup, putting on my annual charity fundraiser [Vancestock], or putting on singer-songwriter shows in the Oak Room [Vancestock Unplugged].” It is also amazing how many others are impacted by Vance’s energy and labour of love for these events.
Cooper Mediation is presenting sponsor of the 2020 Troilus Annual Canada Cup from Friday, February 21 through Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at a variety of squash clubs in southern and central Ontario including the Cambridge Club in Downtown, Toronto. This is our 6th year sponsoring this amazing event. Each year 20+ tennis stars and hundreds of fans enjoy this annual event. Read more about the Canada Cup.
In collaboration with the Cambridge Club, the Oak Room is turned into a beautiful performance space for singer-songwriters to create an intimate and interactive musical listening experience for those who appreciate live music and wonderfully talented musicians. Five shows were held in 2019 to rave reviews by those in attendance, and three shows are scheduled in the first half of 2020 – Thursday, January 30th, Wednesday, April 1st, and Thursday, May 28th. Dozens of performers have graced us with their wonderful performances so far and we’ve already welcomed hundreds of music aficionados. Our annual charitable event, Vancestock IX is Thursday, October 22nd, 2020 at Radio (formerly Adelaide Hall), located at the corner of Adelaide and Duncan. Now in its 9th year, Vancestock has brought together thousands of music fans over the years to enjoy dozens of musical acts. What’s more, we’ve also helped Trails bring their services to many inner city youth by raising over $260,000 in eight years. Trails has single-handedly changed the course of so many lives. On behalf of Vance and the Cooper Mediation Team, we would like to thank the Cambridge Club for indulging our love of squash and music and for this lovely gesture. We are very thankful to everyone who has supported the initiatives we love dearly.
We hear the “Fittest Member Award” is up for grabs…Vance is waiting by the phone!
